Was browsing through the Baidu community this afternoon and found a post about it.

I know it's in Chinese, so here's a summery:

A while ago someone posted an obviously stolen image in the forum, claiming it's his/her work. If you can't tell from the link, it's the promotional poster/wallpaper for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. At first people brushed it off as a traced work for practice (tracing is not as looked down upon in China than here so long you say that it's traced), but the thief rejected it by saying he/she never traces, and the painting was done without any reference at all.

So then someone asked why the signature down at the bottom says "Konami", and the thief replied that its his/her online username.

yeah, then it got out of control from there, with people coming into the thread accusing and making fun of the post. Eventually it got so big that some gaming magazine took note of it and published this on paper---what you see in the link provided above (no, I didn't take the picture, I'm merely redirecting you guys to it).

What did the thief say about this? "It's better to get a lot of negative attentions than getting nothing at all. " <---note: this is how most art thieves think. Makes you wonder how you can stop them, eh?

Well, he/she sure did get a lot of attention. In the entire forum his/her post with the obvious stolen artwork's got the most views and the most comments. A job well done. :]


That's just my daily amusement. XDDD
